This book was born from many, many individual sessions with patients, ergonomic consultations with workers and employers using computers and workshops/presentations. The most common response (truly, about 98% of the time) to hearing that Dr. Mayes wrote a book on posture is, “Oh, I need that book. I have horrible posture.”
PEOPLE KNOW THEY HAVE BAD POSTURE, BUT THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. GOOD POSTURE MADE EASY TELLS YOU EXACTLY WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT!
In an illustrated, easy-to-read, non-technical format Good Posture Made Easy is a succinct guide to everyday ergonomics: how you sleep, drive, stand, sit and use the computer…all of the places and activities that bad (or good) posture shows up! It shows you how to change habits that aren’t working in your favor and maintain those that are. You will be amazed at how close you are to changing your life and health for the better…and you didn’t even know it!

This book is made up of things I have found myself repeating over and over to patient after patient and in workshop after workshop. My intention is that some little gem will “catch” and provide people with the benefit of greater health and less pain. Many times, they tell me that is so. Many additional times, I wish I had all of this information concisely in writing to hand to them to reinforce their learning or continue to add to it, even when I am not there. And so, here it is…
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
“Impressively well written, exceptionally well organized, deftly presented, “Good Posture Made Easy” is a quick and easy read that is extraordinarily well informed and informative. Critically important, “Good Posture Made Easy” should be considered a vital and essential addition to community and academic library Health & Medicine instructional reference collections. For personal reading lists it should be noted that “Good Posture Made Easy” is also available in a Kindle edition ($8.99).” ~Midwest Book Review
“Concise, easy to read, and very informative. With all the extra sitting, slouching, and static positions we endure during modern working hours, an easy-to-read guide to help form new posture habits is essential. It just takes a bit of consistency, knowledge and awareness to form new habits. So for the sake of your spine, pick up this guide and start making the easy adjustments that’ll pay dividends for your health over time.” ~ Mark Sisson, Author of The Primal Blueprint
“Carrie’s work is a ‘no-fluff’ yet entertaining way to educate yourself and, most importantly, improve the overall health and well-being of your life.” ~Kyle Riegle, Internet Marketer, Speaker, Coach, and Fitness Fanatic
“…an insightful work that emphasizes the importance of good posture. It is a friendly and warm tour about how posture affects our health and conveys a sense of well-being. I was particularly taken by the author’s statement in the first chapter where she says, ‘Awareness is 99% of correcting posture.’” ~Andrew Bonci, D.C.
“Carrie addresses and gives examples with thorough step by step guidance in correct postural alignment for many of our daily activities!” ~Jackie Ankerson, CMT, CYT
“I highly recommend this book to everyone, but especially to musicians, who can spend many hours a day, seated in a practice room or rehearsal hall. Poor posture can do as much or more damage to the spine as any rigorous physical activity!” ~Laurence Smith, B.M., M.M., University of Michigan, music performance
“Her spine care manual, Good Posture Made Easy, is well supported with personal experience and the wisdom of her long time patient care. This book is a fine contribution for anyone wanting to understand and explore optimal spine health.” ~Libby Robold, MA, ERYT 500, PRYT, AYT, Yoga Therapist, Co-Director of Yoga for Health Education, LLC
“Dr. Carrie Mayes presents questions for people to ask themselves about their current lifestyles and provides ideas to change the way that we live. Challenging the status quo is always a great thing when it improves the quality of your life.” ~Bradley J.H. Schiller, D.C.
